Smart Move Dubai: car rental in Dubai since 2011
Smart Move Dubai is a car rental company founded in 2011 by Arshad Paharudeen and Ramees Hamsa and based at Sultan Business Centre in Oud Metha. We rent self-drive cars by the day, week and month, supply cars with professional drivers, and arrange airport and private transfers. Our fleet of more than 50 vehicles runs from economy cars to Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and Ferrari.
Monthly rentals start at AED 1,300 plus VAT, with comprehensive insurance, maintenance and 3,000 km a month included. Companies can rent without a deposit, and 3-year contracts come with a brand-new 0 km car in any model.

How much does it cost to rent a car in Dubai?
At Smart Move Dubai, monthly car rental starts at AED 1,300 for an economy car, AED 1,400 for a sedan and AED 1,800 for an SUV or 7-seater. Luxury cars start at AED 2,500 a day and exotic cars at AED 3,000 a day. All rates exclude 5% VAT.

What documents do I need to rent a car in Dubai?
UAE residents need an Emirates ID and a valid UAE driving licence. Visitors need a passport, a visit visa and a driving licence from a country the UAE recognises, or an International Driving Permit alongside their home licence. Send clear photos of your documents on WhatsApp and Smart Move confirms everything before delivery. If you become a resident during a rental, we ask you to switch to a UAE licence.
What is the minimum age to rent a car in Dubai?
At Smart Move Dubai, drivers must be at least 21 years old. For some luxury and sports cars the minimum age is 25. Every driver also needs a valid licence accepted in the UAE. If you are unsure whether you qualify for a particular car, send us your age and licence country on WhatsApp before booking and we will confirm.
Can I collect a rental car at Dubai Airport?
Self-drive cars are not delivered to Dubai Airport. Smart Move delivers self-drive cars to your home, hotel or office across Dubai, free of charge on monthly and long-term rentals. If you are landing in Dubai, book our airport transfer service: a professional driver meets you at the airport and takes you to your destination, and your rental car can be delivered there.
Is insurance included when I rent a car?
Yes. Every Smart Move rental includes comprehensive insurance, along with routine maintenance, a replacement car and roadside assistance. A Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is available as an optional extra. Without CDW, the renter pays the insurance excess after an accident; the amount depends on the vehicle category and is confirmed in your quotation before you sign. Ask us for the excess on the car you want before booking.
How much is the deposit, and when is it refunded?
Individual renters pay a refundable deposit of AED 1,000 for a saloon, AED 2,000 for an SUV or AED 3,000 for a luxury car. Smart Move refunds it 15–21 days after you return the car, once any traffic fines, Salik or Darb charges and damage are settled. Company bookings can rent without a deposit; ask for a corporate quotation to set this up.
Can I drive a rental car outside Dubai?
Yes, within the UAE. Smart Move cars can be driven anywhere in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, but not outside the country. Abu Dhabi uses its own road toll system, Darb, and any Darb charges during your rental are passed on to you. Your kilometre allowance applies wherever you drive, so mention long trips when you ask for a quote.
How are Salik tolls and traffic fines charged?
Salik is Dubai’s automatic road toll. Each crossing costs AED 6 at weekday peak times and AED 4 off-peak, and Smart Move passes it on at cost plus an AED 1 admin fee per crossing. Traffic fines issued during your rental are charged to you. Both are settled before your deposit is refunded, which is why we refund 15–21 days after return.
